I have always loved the idea of giving or receiving a hostess gift that is a little out of the ordinary. One that is really thoughtful (maybe with a story behind it) and useful, yet still a treat. For example, when I go apple picking I love wrapping up some freshly picked apples and pairing them with a jar of store bought caramel sauce. I’d say that’s a pretty nice gift-very Barefoot Contessa, don’t you think?
So, next time you need an idea for a hostess gift, look around your grocery store, look at your holiday menu (maybe you can make a gift from something you’re already making) and try putting something easy and special together.
This Mint Infused Sugar (recipe HERE) is literally the easiest gift to make! I simply put some of the sugar in a pretty little jar and tied it with a simple string. It’s ready to be added to tea, fruit, or used for baking. You can also add some “sides” to make it a bigger gift. I would include either whole citrus fruits, like oranges and grapefruits, or you can pair it with a box of tea and cookies.
“Just a spoonful of MINT sugar… helps everything go down… in the most delightful way!!!!” 😉
