Red White and Blue Dessert Board

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Nothing says an American celebration quite like the trio of red, white and blue, especially when there are no artificial colors involved. So we’re going au naturale today for this dessert! No food coloring, only beautiful berries.

I don’t know about where you live, but the strawberries around here have been so gorgeous lately. And since the season doesn’t last long, I have been happily indulging.

So, I decided to put together a really simple but festive dessert board that is overflowing with fresh berries.

Although this dessert isn’t much of a recipe and is definitely not at all complicated, in my opinion, that’s what makes it a perfect dessert for the season. It requires no baking (if you go the store-bought route), which is great when it’s too hot to use the oven. Plus, when you’re entertaining, no fuss is always the way to go. That way you can focus on quality time with friends and family.

You can add whatever cookies, cakes or pastries you like. The options are endless.

The red and blue colors are easy to achieve-just use your favorite berries. For the white element I sprinkled the cookies with shredded coconut. But you can use powdered sugar, melted white chocolate, whipped cream or white chocolate shavings.

It’s simplicity at it’s best. And of course, it’s beautiful and delicious too.
