Spring Flower Arrangement How-to

 

 I’m starting to really love the casual floral arrangement look. Not tightly packed, but something that looks as natural as possible. That way each stem can be more easily seen and appreciated. I believe this arrangement is the perfect example of that look. I just love it, and hope you do too.

Place your flowers in room-temperature water when you get home until you’re ready to arrange them properly. When you’re ready, lay everything out that you’ll need. I like to use the paper wrapping the florist gives me as a work surface- makes for easy cleanup.

You’re going to need flowers, a vase filled with water (and flower food) and gardening shears (or really strong scissors).

I measured each stem to the height I wanted. (I wanted them on the shorter side because I didn’t want them to overpower or hide the other items in the gift basket they were going in).

Then I trimmed each stem.

To achieve a natural and casual look, I kept the leafy green stems longer for an uneven and natural effect. I also grouped similar colors together so it wasn’t too “cookie cutter” or stuffy looking.
